The exhibition of anime and manga from Japan looks at how these popular characters that have triggered worldwide crazes from 1950s to 2000s. The show features life-sized figures of Hello Kitty, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Mobile Suit Gundam and more, allowing a window into the obsessive phenomenon of Japans world of characters. As interest in Japanese subculture becomes increasingly a topic of interest around the world, the Japan Foundation responds and examines the impact of characters from the 1950s until the present day on Japanese society. The exhibition is touring internationally, proudly presented by The Japan Foundation and here in Perth thanks to the Consulate-General of Japan in Perth.
