Revealed: Emerging Aboriginal Artists from Western Australia

Revealed is a showcase of emerging Aboriginal art and artists from across WA. The exhibition of more than 50 artists will be held in from 24 October to 12 November 2011.

The highlight will be a bustling marketplace where visitors can buy direct from Centres on Fri 28 Oct (public holiday) and Sat 29 Oct from 12-4pm. Transport is free on those days and their is plenty to do in the city with extended trading hours and the Commonwealth Festival Perth 2011 nearby in the Cultural Centre. http://commonwealthfestival.com/program/peoples-space
The project is part of Commonwealth Festival Perth 2011.
Revealed will be focussed around the art school and Gallery Central at Central Institute of Technology, 12 Aberdeen St, Perth. The inaugural Revealed project was conducted here at Central in 2008.
Aboriginal artists and managers from the Centres will be in Perth for the exhibition and a two-day Professional Development program, including art workshops through to management practices. In addition, two Aboriginal artsworkers will gain skills and be mentored as part of Revealed.
Revealed is produced in partnership with the Department of Culture and the Arts and supported by the Department of Indigenous Affairs and the Federal Government through the Office of The Arts.

Free travel is available on the entire Transperth metro network on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 October.
The date of The Queen’s Birthday public holiday for 2011 has been changed from Monday 3 October to Friday 28 October to coincide with the first day of CHOGM 2011.
